Bought two books at an outlet village yesterday:

Ground Truth by Patrick Bishop
The Corner by David Simon and Ed Burns

Worth about £33 but I only paid £8.

The Walking Dead is the best comic strip ever. I'm up to #60 and it is seriously dark. Cannot wait for the TV show (assuming they don't fuck it up)

Re-reading David Moody's Hater in preparation for the sequel, Dog Blood, which arrived on Monday. Hater is bloody brilliant :hammer:

Frank Darabont usually delivers the goods.

Caning this one at the moment, about 400 pages in and it's keeping me up until 2am every morning. Dagon is on hold for a bit.

Finished it at 02:00 this morning, and then the alarm woke me at 06:30. :x

Excellent book, a proper pages turner, it must be as I caned 600+ pages in five days. If you liked The Wire you need to have a read of the real thing.

Up next? Early nights!

'ChickenHawk' by Robert Mason. Autobiography of his tour of Vietnam as a Huey pilot in 1965. A fantastic read. Mental, but fantastic.
Owned this book since I was about sixteen and decided a re-read was due.

I've got a copy of this that I've read about four times now. Excellent book.

Yeah DD, this is my third or fourth read of it.
Not sure what I'm going to hit next. I'm re-reading alot of stuff I read during the 90's, coz that time is sort of fuzzy to me.

You might be interested in Robert Mason's website.
I wanted to see if he was still alive and what he was doing. He seems to be doing ok....I did wonder coz at the end of the book he was just out of prison and a bit of a psychological wreck.
Anyhoo, there are alot of his photos from Vietnam there, have a look.

Salmon fishing in the Yemen. Paul Torday. Unusual first novel, about love, belief and fronting the impossible. Read it.
